version 6.17 add book glitch
I add new books via Windows Send to, or by dropping a format file into the booklist.

1. Prior to 6.17 the first cell of the new book would be current when a book was added, but in 6.17 it's what ever happened to be the current cell before adding the book. It matters to me because as soon as I add a book I complete the basic metadata by editing the booklist cells. I'm hoping this was not a deliberate change and can be put back as it was.

I suspect this is part and parcel of fixing forgetting the current cell when sorting. Note that you can hit the Home key to move to the first cell.

Yup the current cell is now preserved after many more operations.

btw, why does Home go to the first book in grid mode, but the first cell in list view? Ctrl+Home works but the inconsistency keeps throwing me off.

I'll have to prepend Home to my Tab, Tab, F2 habit

I've also had intermittent problems with Metadata copy & paste in version 6.17. It's worth noting I've been using the feature several times a day without issue ever since it was introduced.

When I do the paste I sometimes get a popup telling me there's nothing to paste - but I can see what I just copied in the clipboard. If I restart calibre the paste works - on the same book from the same clipboard. I'm yet to find a repeatable pattern.

thats how home behaves in all table views. And the table view existed long before grid view. In grid view, there are no cells. And ctrl+home/end works there as well.
