Question Inkpad X not opening a PDF

Hi!

I have Inkpad X with latest firmware (U1040.6.7.1911) and use it mostly for reading technical PDFs. They all worked fine so far (even files up to 23MB) but now I'm trying to open a 10MB PDF and it doesn't work. It only shows the hourglass icon for a few seconds which then disappears and nothing happens.

I installed KOReader and it handles the PDF without problem. The downside though is that after the device is turned off, it starts from the main screen which means that to resume reading I have to go to applications, open the KOReader app, browse the books folder and open the book once again. It's a pretty tedious process and I'd much rather read it through the native Pocketbook reader.

The PDF in question is this: https://www.datastax.com/blog/get-yo...e-cassandra-40
It was available for download for a limited time from the website but it's not anymore. I can send a copy through PM if anyone would need it to help debugging the issue. But maybe there's some other way for me to get additional info about the problem? Device logs or something like that?

Try it with KoReader, as you can install it as second reading app.

Thanks for the suggestion but, as I wrote in the second paragraph, I already tried KOReader and it indeed works. It's just a bit tedious to use (see explanation in OP).

Or do you mean it's possible to integrate it more closely with the Pocketbook software (e.g. have it appear in the "Open with" dropdown after a longpress on a book)? So far I can only see it as a separate app.

It is impossible to find a reason for the pocketbook behaviour without the pdf. My guess: to many vector graphics in it but this is just guessing

You can do this by opening KoReader - pressing the gear button - device - Associate file extensions - ....

That worked great! I can open the PDF in KOReader directly from the Pocketbook interface and, what is even more important, after the device is turned off/on the book opens automatically once again in KOReader. That's good enough for me. Thank you for the help!
