Dyslexia options

Hi, as a reader with children in schools I have encountered many who have reading difficulties and wonder if there are plugins or configuration options out there which might help.
It would be useful to be able to change font type, font colour and size, background page colour, etc. to enable better reading opportunities for those suffering. Glaucoma, Dyslexia, and other sight impairment conditions would greatly benefit from having additional presentation features researched and available.
If I have missed something and they are already there can you please advise how they can be used and if not already there can they be included as a plugin or standard feature set please.
Happy to discuss further if someone accepts the challenge. David

If you mean the Calibre Viewer, yes, of course you can customize all that. Open a book in the viewer, right-click, select Preferences.

Making text simply bigger works far better than "Open Dyslexic" font, which is an art project with almost no science to validate it.

Dyslexia is very different from sight impairments. For impaired vision basically black text, large enough, and white background (of suitable brightness), no glare or shine on screen is the most important for impaired sight. Serif (say Georgia) vs Sans depends on what the reader is most used to.

Some dyslexics might find coloured glasses help. The evidence isn't clear.

For dyslexics, having an ideal letter spacing, line spacing, familiar font and no distraction seems important.
