Hello from New York City!

Many sites that I visit do not feature RSS feeds. Building a calibre recipe in python to fetch news is not so simple.

Wonder about alternative methods to create EPUB files for websites that do not have an RSS feed? It would be nice to read long form articles on an e-book reader instead of a computer monitor.

My goal is to use Kobo Clara HD for reading software documentation while away from a desktop PC and avoid using a smartphone for this. The e-ink display of an e-book reader is easier on my eyes.

Prefer EPUB over PDF for reading on an e-book reader. EPUB is much better than PDF for actual reading. It seems PDF was originally designed for printing rather than reading.

About me. using Calibre on Windows 11 with Kobo Clara HD e-book reader. Use Winget package manager to install and update Calibre.

Hello and welcome to MobileRead!

One way to create an epub file from a website is to save the page as a html file (or copy/paste the text to MS Word/Libre Office), edit it in Word/LO/your favorite word processor, add the file to Calibre and convert to epub. The resulting epub can be edited again in the Calibre editor, if needed.
