Calibre Catalog Errors

When I make a catalog from my library of books in Calibre, I find "&middot" between the genres. Example: fiction &middot mystery &middot thriller &middot suspense etc. It should read: fiction, mystery, thriller, suspense etc.

How can I get rid of &middot?
