[Kobo] Solution to Error communicating with device: sideload only

I own a Libra 2 and have been resetting my device more often than not when side loading my books by using Calibre because I get a lot of errors about communicating with the device. I have searched for every possible solution but didn't succeed to find one.

Last week I chose not login with my Kobo account and turn on the side-loading ApplicationPreferences-setting via the Configuration Options-file.

So far (a week), after multiple times syncing my usage data with Calibra, I have not experienced any errors which is a blessing.

Happy to learn from others if there are any other possible solutions!

Never had any errors with either of my Kobos, and I sideload everything. I don't connect very often, though, as I load my books in large batches.

I think some Libras are flakier and more unstable than others. Mine seems to be pretty stable, and it was from an early batch, bought when released.

Also, do you happen to use KOReader? Libra 2 seems not to play well with KOReader.

I have had more lockups and reboots with my Libra 2 than any device I owned.
I normally leave the network OFF (I did a test download from Kobo just to see if it works) . Sideload everything (including FW).
I don't think it is failing HW as it can go weeks without a bump.

Just wondering if it’s possible to connect calibre content server to libra 2 without using koreader ? Have tried the ip address and username and password but it just stays at loading never finishes.
