Online screensaver - does it exist for Kobo?

Hello
I have seen that the Kindle has an Online Screensaver extension available. This allows the kindle to read images from a URL and display them as a screensaver.
See: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=236104

Does something similar exist for Kobo?
Thanks

I do not remember someone having done exactly the same thing.
You can do it yourself however, thanks to this trick:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=321609

You would need to write a script which downloads an image from the given url every X minutes and place it in the ".kobo/screensaver".
You can launch the script with Nickel Menu. Or, if manual updating is enough for you, I believe a one-line code started by nickel menu's cmd_spawn or cmd_output could be enough.

I do not even know the basis of bash so I won't be the one helping you, sorry!

The thing is, you won't really see these images. You close the cover of the case and you no longer see the screen as it goes to sleep. You open the cover of the case and you see the screen for maybe a second as it wakes up.

And not all of us keep the WiFi on when not needed in order to run down the battery.
