Login with JB device

Just got brand new PW5 (2021) and sadly the firmware it came with cannot be jailbroken. However since i also have jailbroken KT2 and added downloaded books into collections with Librarian Sync. I'm thinking I can try to log in to the one with the jailbreak and sync the collections. And hopefully be able to get them on the new one via same account. Not sure if it will work for downloaded books, but i can try. Question is it safe to log in with jailbroken device? I can take the risk connecting it to WiFi as it seems KT2 devices last firmware update was 14.2.2.2 and looks like they're not in a hurry to release new one.

Yes, it is safe. Amazon is not going to know or tell you that you have JB.

For collections, you can try creating collections on JB-Kindle and replacing the collections.json file in the system folder on non-JB-Kindle.

When Kindle is connected via USB, open it, and manually enter “/system” to the address bar. This will bring you to the the hidden folder.

Backup the file first, of course, and be careful.

Syncing didn't work as it wont upload collections with books not from Amazon. Also there is no collections.json in the new device, pasting the one from the jailbroken one did nothing. Seems PW5 collections scheme is different. Will try to look all files in the hidden folders and hopefully figure something out
