Unusual items show up "ON DEVICE" in Calibre/Kindle

Sorry, but I didn't know whether to put this in the Kindle or Calibre forum.

Got a new Kindle Paperwhite and wanted to transfer my side-loaded books from the old Kindle to the new one.
When I view the books 'on Device' there are a lot of 'books' that have a period in front of the title and are 4K and have a generic blue cover. These 'books' won't open in the Calibre book viewer, but give an error "unknown book type" in the details.

Does anyone know what these items are and can I delete them without causing a problem on my Kindle? 4k x 2200 books takes up a lot of additional space.
