new Nook Glowlight 4

Is the location for book files on it still "My documents"? Does it support any formats other than epub and pdf?

The location for sideloaded book files is now called Nook. As far as I can see, it only supports ePub and PDF.

does it work though if you put an epub into "my documents"? I think nook is meant for books purchased from B&N

When I connect my Nook Glowlight 4 to my Mac, I get a pop-up window on my Nook asking me if I want to enable USB mode. When I turn on USB mode, my Nook appears as a drive on my Mac. When I open the Nook "drive", I see only two folders, Nook and android. The User's Guide instructs me to place any sideloaded ePub and pdf files in the Nook folder. I do not see a My Documents folder! The older Nooks had a My Documents folder, but not this one!

PS - This may or may not help you, but I discovered a hidden way to access developer options and then I installed a launcher and a file manager app. What the Nook is set up to do when it is connected to a Mac or PC by USB is to open a folder in storage called spsd. Only the contents of this folder show up on the Mac or PC. The Nook folder is located in this folder. The device has a separate Nook folder outside of spsd for B&N purchased books.

Could you create a My Documents folder (or really any folder you like) and put an epub in it and see if the nook picks it up. If it does then I dont need to have a separate code path forthis device in the nook driver.

I created a books subfolder in the Nook folder. I put one ePub in the books subfolder and one directly in the Nook folder. The Nook picked up both. Then I created a My Documents folder which was not a subfolder of the Nook folder. The Nook did not see the book in that folder.

So, if you want a My Documents folder, it needs to be a subfolder of the Nook folder for the Nook to see the books.

Hello,
I am having the same issue of Calibre not seeing the Nook Glowlight 4 as well.
Within the drop down menus the NG4 has a file called My Files. No clue if this helps or not.

I just updated Calibre to the latest version. The new driver for the Nook Glowlight 4 works fine.

For the benefit of other users, there may be a slight delay the first time you connect your Nook to Calibre, but it should work. Once you've transferred books to the Nook, you may need to reboot the Nook to find the books in the Nook's library. Wait a few moments and they will appear!

Once again, many thanks for setting up the driver for this device!!

I'm still on MacOS/X 10.12.6 on the MBP I use to link to my ereaders so the last version of calibre I was able to load on it is 3.48. Is there any way to trick it into seeing the Glowlight 4? There were aspects of 10.13 and above that I just don't like for my traveling laptop and that's the one I'd like to keep sync'd with the Glowlight.

My wife just received a new Glowlight 4e for Christmas, but it is not being found by Calibre. She uses Windows 7, and I've updated her to Calibre 3.48 (Latest Win 7 release) But it still does not find it.

Is this something that can be added to the older versions?

No. You need a newer version of Calibre.
