Issue with displaying images in an ebook in Calibre Viewer
I recently received an ebook of Ursula Vernon's graphic novel Digger and tried to view it in Calibre. It seems like Calibre only wants to display the images at a small size, regardless of how I resize the window or change the settings.
If I right-click and select "view image", the image displays in a pop-up window at a larger size, so I know it's not that the image file itself is small. I thought I might have changed something in the settings that caused the issue, but I reset the viewer preferences to the defaults with no change. Increasing the text size results in words running into each other and overlapping, and does nothing to change how the images are displayed. Screenshots: Images stay this size regardless of the window size. What text looks like with the font size increased. I don't know if this is a Calibre problem or a "something is wrong with this ebook" problem, but if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. |

The problem is the graphics are small. You can however go into the code and edit ti so each graphic is shown full screen. The following code is what works for me to make images full screen. It's really simple.
CSS: Code:
body { widows: 1; orphans: 1; margin-top: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-bottom: 0; margin-left: 0; text-align: justify; } img { max-height: 100%; max-width: 100%; } .cover { text-align: center; text-indent: 0; height: 100%; } Code:
<div class="cover"> <img alt="" class="cover" src="../Images/cover.jpg"/> </div> </body> </html> |

This will be a fixed layout ebook, these are not supported in calibre. Your best bet is to use the unpack book tool and extract all the images and zip them up and rename the zip file to CBZ then view that.

Thank you both for replying. It looks like the publisher is working on a non-fixed-layout version, so I won't have to fix it myself.

I've recently started to use the Azardi viewer to read graphic novels. I've found converting them is a bit of a hit-and-miss proposition.
Azardi free ==>> AZARDI 43.1 Release. AZARDI@IGP Because its library feature is opt-in, it sits alongside calibre better than some of the other viewers. BR |
