To use this properly, you need to update the Server DomainName used in the Setup tab to: ebooksystem.net.

Then, you should select 'Global' from the Device Setup dropbox and choose 'GEB1150' for the eBookwise 1150 or 'GEB2150' for the REB1200. Then, click the 'Save Device Setup' button.

For the EBW1150, you must use port 80 whereas the REB1200 can still use port 9090.

Be sure to restart (i.e. exit) the program after each device/port update.

If you're having problems installing it, just ask for help/support here...

Getting REB Librarian to work

I just got my brand spanking new Ebookwise 1150 and I decided to install the REB Librarian.
I found out I also need the ebook publisher to make the conversion from html to imp.
Done that, the converted file is in the REB Librarian/Bookshelf folder so the next part is getting the file from the folder on to the Ebookwise.

The setup tab of the REB Librarian program gives the instructions how to download files from your computer, unfortunately they're for a REB1200.

So how do I configure the Ebookwise so that I can download files to the device.

Right now it's connected via USB and it says it's waiting for connection.

Help would be appreciated

Best regards,

Simon

Once you have set up your EBW1150 device, the download method is the same for the REB1200 as it is for the EBW1150.

If you see your .imp in the Local Bookshelf, then just tap the Online Bookshelf on the EBW1150 and you should be ready to download any title in your Local Bookshelf by tapping a title.

If you are having problems downloading to the EBW1150, then follow the help given here.

OK, I've downloaded and installed the driver, version 3.00 and the driver says not connected even if the Ebookwise is on and plugged in via USB cable.

I just checked the network information and it says USB link status down, connection type -not connected.

Furthermore the ebook I have converted does not show up in the local bookshelf and therefore also not on the device.

I just did another conversion, and it's the same thing; I can see the file if I look in C:\Program Files\REBTools\RebLibrarian\bookshelf, I can't see it in the bookshelf tab of REB librarian and therefore also not on the device.

If I select move book from in the local bookshelf menu I can see the books I've converted, clicking on refresh doesn't do anything either though.

What can I do?

Best regards,

Simon

You really need the driver working for anything to work with the REB Librarian.

Go to the www.ebookwise.com FAQs and Information, in particular:

Verify which .imp type you created by double-clicking your .imp ebook using Windows Explorer. If it is for the EBW1150, it should come up with a 320x480 small grayscale screen/window (not the larger 480x640 colour screen/windows that is for the REB1200). If you don't know which one it is just post it here and we can tell you!

Basically, get the usb driver working and then make sure you are creating the Half-VGA grayscale .imp for the EBW1150 (previously known as the GEB1150). Then verify your REB Librarian setup is for the GEB1150 and click the Online Bookshelf on the EBW1150. That should do it!

Got my mojo working!

And the ebookwise as well It turns out I had a problem with device manager, fixed that and now the driver is working OK.

I switched to Impserve because the settings in REB Librarian wouldn't stick, that is every time I started REB Librarian I had to make all the changes you describe in your post.

Impserve does work for me though, so I'm one happy chappy.

Thanks a bunch and of course all the best for 2009
