pop-ups seems to "stutter" on appearing

I think this might be due to Qt, but I'm not sure.
What happens is that when I edit and use for instance Tools>Remove unused CSS rules, the according pop-up seems to "stutter" on its appearing (it "grows" stuttering from small to full size). I did see it sometimes happen with other calibre pop-ups also.
Initially I had the idea that my display drivers were outdated, so I got the very latest ones, but that did not help. Further, all other pop-ups under windows 11 with other programs appear just smooth as they should. Except with calibre.

So, does anybody have seen this behavior also, or is it just me?

Those may possibly be 'exploding' dialog boxes. A standard visual from way back in the MSDOS era. They were particularly annoying if you used PC ANYWHERE on dialup.

Nope, that is not the culprit. The calibre main program opens its pop-ups (like Preferences) smooth enough. It is just the editor app. There any pop-up stutters. I noticed it since switching to version 6.7.x, but blamed it to my old video drivers. But then: every window popping up should be affected and they are not. Curious

Not happening here. Quite the opposite in fact.

Most applications, including calibre and particularly MS Office, have been noticeably snappier in recent months. I've not changed a thing hardware-wise, and I'm running the same suite of background applications… which leads me to suspect it must be something MS did in Windows 10.

Windows 10, Calibre 6.7.1, NVIDIA drivers are circa 2017.

Yes, it has to do with the combination Windows, NVIDA drivers and possible Qt.

I found yesterday new video drivers for my NVIDA and chose the Game Ready Driver (526.47) instead of the Studio Driver (which I had). That made the "stuttering" now hardly noticeable (=less irritating), but it is there still. And that part must be under control of Qt. It is especially noticeable on popups which have more pre-filled fields as if Qt has trouble to scale them for the editor app.

For good measure I added QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--disable-gpu" to the environment variables which seems to help further, but it might also be wishful thinking Anyhow, it seems smoother now, and it currently does not distract me anymore (until the next unavoidable driver/OS/calibre/and-what you-have-further on updates).
