Loading books with Calibre : no data registers
Hi everyone,
I'm sending an SOS from Paris (so please excuse potential language issues ![]() I recently resat my Kobo Libra 2 to factory settings. All my data was obviously deleted. Then I charged my books again from my Calibre library. Everything went well that far. Problem is : since the resetting, de device is only registering reading data from official Kobo bookshop. I'll try to be more precise : when I read a book charged from Kobo bookshop, the data from the session is registered and stays, everything goes normally. If I read a book I loaded from Calibre, the data is there when I check right after reading. But at each restart, all data linked to any book loaded from Calibre desapears ![]() Did anyone had the same issue ? Do you have any lead on how to fix it? It's really frustrating to see data piling and then just disapearing ![]() Thank for your help! |

What data is it you miss? The reading statistics or something else?
(I never use the reading statistics so I don't know what it is supposed to look like, but when I checked now there was something about how many books were finished and hours of reading. I don't have a current read at the moment so I can't check those statistics. All my books go through Calibre) |

If these are all books you bought from Kobo, then my guess would be Kobo is confused by having the books on your device that you didn't sync from the Kobo store. Maybe try adding books to your archive on kobo.com so that when you sync, those books won't be affected? This might let you keep reading statistics for your sideloaded books.

Most of my books come from Calibre too. The lenght of time spent reading on the book, the lenght of reading sessions and the total of reading are not accuarate. The only data kept is the position within the book.

Minor nit. A Google Drive link is not an image file.
You can use the URL tool to include the links in the message which requires you to click on the link so not my preferred method. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qkm...usp=share_link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hBD...usp=share_link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yKq...usp=share_link The easiest way is to use the paperclip in the tool bar or the Attach files in the Additional options. See the attached thumbnails box for an example of doing this. |

As for the error, it appears rather likely that your database is corrupted. I would suggest installing the Kobo Utilities plugin and then use one of it's functions to check the database.

Thank you all for your help ! I followed rthe lead offered by DNSB, and forced and installation of 4.30.18838 version of the software. It created a new database, and now it's all working !
