Replacement for discontinued active content
Was there ever an official replacement for the active content feature? I like the idea of having Monopoly on my Kindle. Is the new solution to make Kindlets?

Sure, but kindlets are not supported on firmware above 5.8.11

This may be a stupid question, but can kindlets be converted in some fashion to booklets? I thought that was what had to happen to KUAL for newer firmware.

The Booklet API is private and obfuscated, and I'm not familiar with the actual differences, so, good luck, I guess?

(You would *definitely* need the sources of the Kindlet to be ported, anyway).

KUAL only uses an itty bitty tiny part of the API, which is probably what helped make this possible.

You are much better off using something web-engine based, e. g. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=321651 . Or something completely standalone like https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=293390 .

So maybe more complicated apps and games can be “ported” to work in Kindle.

aur0aHAX is exactly what I was looking for. Looks like there's even basic <canvas> support
