Timeout not working

Hi all,

I've got a recipe for heise.de which works sometimes and sometimes it is stuck, I'd think they make it on purpose. Anyway, the recipe is always stuck at 1% in fetching articles or images. I can live without reading these news every day, but since I don't want it hanging forever, I've added the timeout as

timeout = 120

to the recipe, but it makes no difference, the recipe does not stop after 2 minutes or actually not at all. Does the timeout work at all, or does it work only in particular circumstances?

timeout is passed to the underlying mechanize library. After that it's up to mechanize.

Hi Kovid,

mechanize seems to have a lot of issues with timeout (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...with-mechanize , https://splunktool.com/how-do-i-set-...hons-mechanize , https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...24210#14924210 etc. etc.). What about using some workaround? I understand that this is not so urgent, but it would help :-)

Simply set the max duration for jobs in Preferences->Miscellaneous
