Linux support - snap

Is there any chance you will start supporting snap as a distribution channel for Linux? From what I can tell it is an easier route to cross-distro software dissemination (letting folks deal with two distribution sources [distro-specific + snap] instead of multiple [distro-specific plus each vendor]),

I avoid Snap or Flatpack if there is a proper deb version. It's very simple installing from Kovid's web site.
Plenty of SW needs direct download.

Calibre is already available as a flatpak for distro-agnostic Linux support. Most distros already support it. Ubuntu is the main holdout that has chosen to go all-in on Snaps instead. Flatpaks seem decidedly more popular, to the point that several of the largest distros based on Ubuntu (Mint, pop!_os, and elementary) all override stock Ubuntu behavior and ship flatpaks instead.
