EReader with Google play: Dasung vs Onyx vs Boyue
Since i work looking at a computer screen all day i was wondering if purchasing a Dasung- Not-eReader 103 is worth it?
I plan on using the ereader for: -surfing the web -using Google Play apps like reddit especially -watching Youtube videos 4)downloading and viewing PDF I was planning on getting a Dasung- Not-eReader 103 but its pricey and was wondering if there was something cheaper and better at running Google Play and surfing the web? Thank you for your time!! |

I dunno, but for surfing the web and watching YouTube, I'd never turn to a black-and-white e-reader. Especially at that price of many hundreds of dollars!
My solution is to use regular tablets for those two activities, which can be a lot cheaper, but still of solid quality. At the same time, I admit I'm happy my newest Onyx e-reader runs on Android, so that I can perform "tablet-like" activities on it, if need be. But I really only consider it an emergency option. For around $500, I'd consider the newly released 10-inch Onyx Boox Air2 Plus. (Not just Air2 – Air2 Plus, which has a larger battery.) But it really seems like a stretch. (I have the cheapest, 6-inch $150 Onyx e-reader, and I'm perfectly satisfied with it, but I'd never turn to it for specifically performing the activities you listed.) My Nova 3 works well for surfing the web and reading articles. Reddit works fine. I use EinkBro, which is a browser designed for use with e-ink devices.
If you need to look at images while browsing the experience will obviously be subpar. I would also forget about watching Youtube videos. It works in a pinch, but I wouldn't want to do that unless I have to. |
