KOA, help enabling cover as screensaver
Hi!
I have a Kindle Oasis 10th generation running firmware 5.14.3.0.1, and it was always without "Special offers".

I don't have the option to show my book covers as screensaver.

On that firmware is not so easy to jailbreak it to install the "screensavers hack".

Do you know what can i check to have this option enabled?

Check the advice from dedeca.

In short, downgrade to v5.14.2, connect to Wi-Fi for a few seconds until the "Display Cover" option comes back, then go offline and reinstall 5.14.3.2.

- I always reinstall JB hotfix after installing firmware.
- Backup /var/local/KWISClient.db, when it working.
- Decca suggestion: avoid rebooting the device when online.

Can the /var/local/KWISClient.db file be edited to toggle this option on a JB kindle?

Thank you @tekkasit, unfortunately that is not applicable to my kindle:
- this kindle was never jailbroken
- that firmware version is not easily downgradable (it requires a serial console if I'm not mistaken)

I don't don't need jailbreaking this specific kindle, altough I can do it if it's needed (better without dismantling it)

My Oasis 9th gen has the most recent FW and shows the book cover as the sleep screen. Completely unmodified.

Do you regularly connect to WiFi? Some features require connecting to Amazon server to get turned on. Side-loading the updates alone is not enough.

And (no doubt this is where you are looking) the option should be in Device Options.
