Question Sorting by "Size (b)" column is alphabetical not numerical.

Recently I wanted to check what was the largest book in my Calibre library. (Easiest way to find audible books or picture books (Comics, Magazines, etc.)

I have always used the "Size (b)" column (byte) as it shows the exact file size. (ie. 334421 b (same as 334 kb or .3 MB)

BUT when I sorted the column, it came out alphabetically, NOT numerically.

110001
110005
111
111220
12
13555
169
1704493
etc.

I added back the "Size (MB)" column and it DID sort properly, so was able to find what I was looking for.

But why is the "Size (b)" column treated alphabetically when sorted?

I would assume it is a bug?

Thanks

Presumably you didnt specify the column contains numbers when you created it in Preferences->Add your own columns

LOL, Your right. It has been so long since I started using Calibre (Wow its been 15 years!!) That I thought it was a standard column. Did not realize I had created it.

Probably just left it on default. (text) Switched to (number) and it works perfectly.

Thanks.
