Thank you very much for the full text search, suggestions and doubts.

Greetings, I have been using Calibre for years and I think the most important feature for me has been the inclusion of full text search.

I use Calibre basically as a library manager where I have ordered my articles and books to be able to use them with my students.

I have 36500 (250 GB) articles and books very organized in Calibre. In case it could be useful, the indexing took less than 8 hours (PC I5, 16gb ram, with the library and windows 10 on a SSD nvme Samsung 970 evo plus). The search takes a few seconds.

As I am using this feature since it was implemented I have some doubts:

1.- Does the search have any limit of books like in Power Search or does it search the whole library?

2.- When presenting the results the first books are the ones with more times the searched term or is it random? It would be great to show them in order from most to least important (most times the searched term appears). This is important because the searched term may appear only once in a book or in a quote and may be confused with another book in which the searched term appears many times and is more useful.
If it is random, it would be very practical if the results were predefined to appear from the most to the least number of times or a column or indication of the number of times the term appears in each book.

3.- Since the last update (6.2.1) the indexing of new books often does not work. When I restart calibre it indexes 2 or 4 books, but it doesn't continue indexing. I don't think it is because of the size of the library as it used to work fine.

4.- Is it possible to copy the library to another pc without having to re-index it?

There are many questions but this function is very important.

Finally, this functionality appeared almost at the same time as Google's Pinpoint which does the same thing in a different way and Calibre does it much better.

Thank you very much Kovid Goyal.

1. no it does not have any limits

2. It is sorted by relevance already, see the documentation in https://www.sqlite.org/fts5.html about relevance

3. Not sure I follow are you saying newly added books are not indexed?

4. Yes, simply copy the library folder or use the calibre export tool

You are welcome.

Thank you for your answers.
Yes, the new papers are not being indexed.
I currently have 36443 books and papers in the library. But the indexing window shows 35678 out of 35995 added. The numbers do not match. This has been happening since the last update.
I will try copying the library to another pc and see if Calibre behaves the same.
Thanks again.
