Sigil 1.9.2 - Is MathML supposed to render properly in the Preview pane?

Not sure why my last thread was deleted, I didn't get a reason. Is this not the forum to report issues? I'm planning on working on an EPUB with a lot of math in it, so I checked if the test epub file renders properly first. It renders as intended in the Readium preview, but the Preview pane only renders it as a single line. I'm guessing the code is changed a bit when it's passed to the preview pane, or MathML just adds a lot of stuff that makes it easy to mess up. This isn't that big of a deal, just wondering if there's a fix for it before I start working on it. Here's a screenshot. https://ptpimg.me/tafm5c.png |

After searching a bit, I had to go into the default Sigil settings and enable Javascript. I'll leave this thread up in case anyone else encounters this issue. Thanks for your work.

It was not deleted, just hidden so that only moderators could see it. First posts of new members are automatically moderated and I just missed it. Yes MathJax is used for mathml and it is javascript based. So enabling javascript is required. I have now approved your first post and then deleted it as a duplicate of this one. You should be good to go posting-wise for new threads. Last edited by KevinH; 09-20-2022 at 09:11 AM. |

It actually might take several posts before new users stop getting auto-moderated. Annoying, but we tend to get overrun with spam otherwise.

Hi Tenome, indeed, I'm having the same issue. I already activated the javascript option, but still cannot see my equations rendering at all on the sigil previewer. Is there something i'm missing?, I'm a newbie with sigil.

You're certain the MathML markup is valid and that you're working with EPUB3? The version of Sigil you're using and your operating system/version will be helpful as well. |

Since Preview is only created once. You must open a new Sigil main window before javascript is truly enabled.

If this is linux, perhaps they do not have mathjax 3 installed?
