Calibre 6.1 Reindex a book, where is the button?

Calibre 6.1 new features includes

Full text search: Add a button to re-index a book, useful if the book's contents have been changed outside calibre

I cannot find the button. Can someone point me at it?

Thanks in advance

Find the book using full text search, the button will be present when you click on the book in the full text search dialog.

Thankyou

Many thanks for the quick reply. And of course many thanks for Calibre itself.

Just a thought: might it be useful to have the reindex facility available by left clicking on the nook in the library display?

Final thought - what about when you left-click on the relevant format (below authors) in the right hand display panel for the selected book. This would allow one to choose to reindex the book only in the format that has been updated

↑ ↑ ↑ ✔

And/Or just on the surface of panel, viz:

Name:	Screenshot 2022-07-17 200916.jpg
Views:	272
Size:	9.0 KB
ID:	195079

Or a tool you could add to a toolbar or menu - that would allow one to re-index multiple books

why is there so much need to re-index books anyway? What are you doing that requires re-indexing?

Quite a few of my books are OCR'd from scans of my physical books. I sometimes replace them with a better copy.

It is a small thing really and I am very grateful for all you work so please drop the idea if you think it not worthwhile.

Note that as long as you re-add the format using calibre it will be automatically re-indexed. It's *only* if you manipulate files in the calirbe library without using calibre that you need to manually re-index.

I copy edit/proofread for a few independent journalists, and I do that on the manuscript version - normally DOCX, sometimes RTF. Calibre's full text search is not critical, nor re-indexing, but one can never have too many tools in the shed.

And I'm accustomed to Windows search and X1 doing it automatically. If it was a tool in calibre itself one might be able use the Action Chain plugin to run it immediately after using third party editors.

But once again - not critical for me.

When I was looking for it, the two places I first checked were a button in the MDE editor (alongside the formats box) and a link in the book details window.
