CZR -> ePub
I imported a .zip containing some PNG images. calibre creates a CBZ file from this. So far so good, CBZ looks good in a viewer app.
However, converting this to ePub makes a mess of things: all the images are now B&W, and there many that are clipped and or have aspect ratio mucked with. Output profile is set to 'iPad 3'. Is there some way to make this work better? Last edited by tomsem; 08-01-2022 at 08:26 PM. |

I assume you mean CBZ (Comic Book Zip).

To do that, install a CBZ viewer and make sure its the default handler for CBZ files, to get Calibre to use that viewer make sure that that CBZ is unchecked in the Preferences->Behaviour->Use internal viewer for: list. I use a no-frills viewer called HoneyView. BR |

I guess I need to look into converting a set of images directly to ePub. I don't want viewing to be restricted to using a CBZ viewer. I still don't understand why color isn't preserved with the existing calibre conversion. |

Another option is to look into Kindle Comic Converter (KCC), much better at conversion on image archives.
