Unable to add .7z file as a format to a book.

Hello, I'm trying to add a .7z file of an audiobook to a book that already is in my library but it is not working. When I go to Edit metadata, Add a format to this book, I am unable to select the .7z file. However, I am able to select a normal .zip file. Is .7z not supported as an addable format? Thank you for your help.

If using Windows, try changing the filetype selector (above the Open, Cancel buttons) to 'All files (*.*)'

Or, easier still - drag'n'drop the .7Z file into the book details panel - right side bar of book list.

I'm on macOS so the filetype selector was not an option. Drag'n'drop did work though, thank you. Is .7z just not supported for the "Add a format to this book" method?

Possibly, but it would be because of the limitations of the Apple operating system.

You could try the Add Books->Add files to selected book records option, but I think that is the same as the Add format file option in Metadata Edit.

The Add books->Add files to selected book records from clipboard option should work, providing the Apple operating system will let you copy files to the clipboard in Finder.

I'm fairly sure you can change the filter in the macOS file dialog as well, though dont have access to my mac just now to check.

I apologize, I was able to do it today through "Add a format to this book." I don't know what I did wrong yesterday. Thank you for your help.
