search in a column by pattern

is it possible to search for an author that doesn't follow a certain pattern? how to do it?

Have you looked at the Quality check plugin?
It can do a ton of different checks, like Authors with, with out commas. Initials that do not match your (plugins) setting. (the 'fix' section, can adjust those (selected) found. The only check it does not find is 'Jill & John Author' type naming

great plugin!
I would like to have a column in which the icons displayed all the errors of this record

Just tag the results using bulk mode of the Metadata editor, then apply the icon to anything with the tag.
