Create a Catalog in Alphabetical Description, not Author
Hi! I'm a pretty novice user so I apologize ahead of time but I'm good at following exact instructions when editing configuration files. lol
Is there a way to create a catalog using alphabetical order by title in the description section and not author? |

I'm not sure if you can do that in an ebook format catalogue. What I've done is to create a CSV catalogue with title moved to the top of the list. Once the catalogue is created, I open it in a spreadsheet program and sort by the title field.

Been a long time since I did one, but I think there is an More than the Author SECTION in the standard EPUB catalog.
If not, CSV is a possible. Then there is also the Commandline tools: calibredb --list (see the help page for switches) Last edited by theducks; 07-13-2022 at 10:53 PM. Reason: More than |

If calibre generated a ToC pointing to the various sections, it might make an ebook format catalogue more useful. You can disable Authors, Series and Descriptions so the catalogue ebook will list titles only alphabetically. As it is, I personally prefer the CSV option since I can sort that by any column. It's possible as some have claimed, that some warped section of my soul loves spreadsheets.

On top the table of content shows «title ‐ author» but in order of author! That is not correct, at least sorting and TOC should show the same. Due to the description plus image this type of catalog is very big and therefore I use it only for «my read next books». For long/sorted lists and searching csv and epub are more efficient. |
