Problem with azw3 files in my kindle with 5.14 + firmware version

as you can see from the attached image, I'm getting a blank menu. I'm not able to go back to home page after I open the azw3 file and can't change fonts or font size or see contents that come with that menu.

I can still read the book though but if i want to come back to home page or go to library I'll have to delete that azw3 file by connecting the device to PC or restart device.

I've tried this with different kindle profiles and other converted files. I'm not sure if anyone using the new kinldes with 5.14 + firmware versions faced this issue.

I've switched to sideloaded azw3 after Amazon stopped accepting mobi files on their send to kindle service.

I haven't encountered a problem with the format so far.

Is this happening on this particular book only? Or is it happening to every azw3 file you put in?

I just checked again by converting a normal book epub into azw3, It works.

I've been converting the calibre fetched news epubs to azw3 to use it on my kindle. (maybe that's why calibre forces mobi output even if azw3 is the preferred output format)

Mobi format has special options for publications which are not present in other formats. Converting to KF8/azw3 in my limited testing was not A Good Idea.

mobi has very limited functionality. The only thing that's going for it is its support for periodical formatting, especially its ability to skip articles with a swipe.. as well as sent to Kindle which isn't reliable anymore.

kfx can be used with periodicals where the navigation bar is placed at the top and end of the article. Similar method can be used for azw3. (It actually converts but is creating problems like mentioned above with kindle.. it just might have a small fix somewhere)

but kfx takes too long to convert and uses a lot of processing power if the output is larger.
