Hi
I have created a book over 1.3 GB. Stupid, I know. I need to split it up and can't do that. Calibre can load it and load it into the editor, BUT I can't split it. I've tried the EpubSplit plugin, but that tells me it has a memory problem and can't load the book. As I've spent days formatting, I'd like to keep that. Is there any other way I can split it into smaller chunks and separate Ebooks? I'd be very grateful for help - I've spent two years on this project! Thanks in advance David |

Hi Kovid
Thanks for the tip. Done that now. I found the latest version of the EpubSplit Plugin. The message now is: "This plugin only works on EPUB2 format ebooks." I used Calibre to do the conversion into its Epub format. I have to presume that isnt the Epub 2 format? Any ideas on how to proceed? Thanks - your help is appreciated. David |

Or try converting epub-->epub and specify epub2 as the output. Then try epubsplit. If still short on memory, you may have to use the Editor. From the Editor you can export xhtml (text) files, then use them to create separate ebooks. Bit of a learning curve possibly, depends on your epub editing experience. |

Make a several copies of that file, open them in an archive manager and remove the unneeded HTML parts manually from there.
Then, open them with the Editor, run Check, and remove unreferenced resources. |

As an aside, I created it originally with Scrivener and exported it from there and imported it into Calibre. I'm up and running again, thanks. Very helpful and appreciated! ![]() ![]() |
