filename templates and calibre wireless connection
Hello everyone, I've been trying to get specific filenames on KOReader by using the calibre template language on "Sending books to devices" under preferences. However I've been utterly unable to get the filenames I want on KOReader, the format is always "Book title - Author(some number)" independently of what I write as template.
So I opened an issue on the KOReader github page: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/9284 They asked me to link the issue here when I ask about this. From what I understand, I need to know if the "template" data is sent over wireless connection, mentioning that they user "chaley" might know this information, saying that if it is then they can implement support to this feature on KOReader. If there's a different way to get specific filenames to KOReader over wireless connection that I don't know of I'd love to know. Thanks in advance. |

You must change the path template in the device driver. Changing the template in the driver will change the lpath sent to the device. KOReader uses that lpath as the path/name of the book.
Changing the template in Preferences / Sending ... sets the template used the first time a device connects (any device). From then on a device driver remembers that original template. Further changes in Preferences / Sending ... have no effect. To change the template in the device driver go to Preferences / Plugins, search for the device driver, in this case "SmartDevice", then "Customize plugin". But to answer your question: no, the wireless device driver sends the result of evaluating the template, not the template itself. That isn't going to change. The driver does send all the metadata for a book so the KOReader people could implement a template processor. The is what I did with CC back in the time when I owned it. |
