Calibre sharing port still 9090?

Calibre 5.44 does not show the port number & my tablets are unable to do the 'wireless connection' from Calibre Companion.

I did reset the tablets to the new ip on the new desktop. If Calibre still use port 9090, then I have a another network problem profile; reason why I also have a windows tablet with Calibre installed.

Just to add an image of the preferences (BTW, the default is 8080, I preferred a different number):

They are talking about WDC mode, not the normal web browser mode.
WDC is configured using:
Preferenceslugins:smartDevice ...

Thanks everyone. It looks like a problem with win 11; but have encountered this problem berore & somehow the problem got fixed mysteriously in win 10.

I think something happened when I changed my network profile from public to private with the same settings(?); & win 11 security left something out. Both the WDC & OPDS connections timed out.

Will try to resolve the problem without going back to a 'public' network lan.

You might want to try setting the private profile to allow inbound connections. You can do this by opening Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security, clicking on properties and setting inbound connections to allowed. I do have a firewall box so I use that instead of a software firewall—I won't mention my opinion of the firewall supplied by my wireless modem/router other than blechh. Due to Microsoft's insistence on turning that setting back off, I ended up setting up the local Group Policy to enforce the setting.

Thank you! That is the answer; I had thought the 'advanced' settings refer to doing stuff with the firewall to allow connections from somewhere on the internet for stuff.

Win 11 has a different look on the advanced settings as I found 4 instances of Calibre listed; 2 for private network profiles & 2 for the public profiles. The public profiles were set to allow inbound connections while the PRIVATE disabled inbound connections; guess when I installed Calibre, my network profile was public as microcrap recommended; doesn't make sense.

After enabling the private profile for inbound connections to Calibre, the tablets now are able to connect. Another thing to watch out on new computers or "clean" installs as some prefer.
