Calibre sharing port still 9090?
Calibre 5.44 does not show the port number & my tablets are unable to do the 'wireless connection' from Calibre Companion.
I did reset the tablets to the new ip on the new desktop. If Calibre still use port 9090, then I have a another network problem profile; reason why I also have a windows tablet with Calibre installed. |

Just to add an image of the preferences (BTW, the default is 8080, I preferred a different number):

Thanks everyone. It looks like a problem with win 11; but have encountered this problem berore & somehow the problem got fixed mysteriously in win 10.
I think something happened when I changed my network profile from public to private with the same settings(?); & win 11 security left something out. Both the WDC & OPDS connections timed out. Will try to resolve the problem without going back to a 'public' network lan. |

Win 11 has a different look on the advanced settings as I found 4 instances of Calibre listed; 2 for private network profiles & 2 for the public profiles. The public profiles were set to allow inbound connections while the PRIVATE disabled inbound connections; guess when I installed Calibre, my network profile was public as microcrap recommended; doesn't make sense. After enabling the private profile for inbound connections to Calibre, the tablets now are able to connect. Another thing to watch out on new computers or "clean" installs as some prefer. |
