Automatically delete mobi after epub transfer to kindle?
Been trying to find a setting or tweak that would avoid cluttering up my computer's library with mobi copies of epubs I send to my kindle paperwhite. Is there such a setting? If not, can we get one? It doesn't take much time to do the conversion if I need it again, and I'd rather save the space. No doubt I can do the delete manually (unless that makes calibre also delete it off the kindle the next time I plug it in?)

Not sure Jon how either of those Kindle features will help someone sending content via USB to a Kindle. The Kindle itself will not be supporting ePub.

If the OP is using the relatively new ability to email an epub to his Kindle, there would be no need to a conversion in calibre.
When using a USB transfer, the conversion to mobi or preferably KF8 should be done on the fly without leaving a mobi/KF8 copy in the calibre library. |

There is no such setting and I dont intend to make one, since ebooks are extremely small files compared to disk sizes. You are welcome to delete the MOBI formats yourself if they bother you, you can do so by right clicking the delete books button and choosing to delete files of a specific format. And no deleting them wont affect the file on your device.

Unless you have an old Kindle, there's no reason to convert ePub to Mobi if you are using Calibre to side load. The only reason for Mobi is to send to Kindle. But as that's no longer needed, there's no need to convert to Mobi if tha's what's being done.
