Hello from a violated Kindle Owner

Hello from near San Diego CA. Owner of 4 Paperwhites, 5, 7, 7, and 10th generation. recently found 1 acting differently, book covers displayed even if nonexistent, collections not visible, etc. powered up another and found same problem so figured I'd been screwed by an upgrade. Went looking for a kindle user group and here i am.

Powered up 3rd PW and it wasn't upgraded yet, so thought putting in airplane mode would protect it, but plugged into computer overnight to fully charge, found it upgraded also today. Would the PW have searched through the USB port to seek an upgrade???

Disabled, limited to use of non-dominant hand/arm, and find this upgrade very much less usable.

Hello and welcome to MobileRead!

Unfortunately there is no way to downgrade a Kindle to an earlier firmware. As to your PW updating over USB, it's possible the update had already been downloaded when you put it in the airplane mode.
