How to access "iCloud" Folder in Sigil Editor

Hi, I am using Sigil 1.9.10.

I am also using iCloud Service in my computer.

When I want to save EPUB files, or import other files into EPUB, sigil customized pop-up window doesn't show the "iCloud" Folder.

But in Sigil Preferences, I can access to "iCloud" Folder because in this action, Mac OS X Folder pop-up window showed.

Can I get some help?

I'm sure Kevin will be able to explain more fully, but the gist is that MacOS's native dialog treats .zip files (and epubs are zip files) like folders. So the Sigil Open/Save dialog had to modified so that it doesn't use the native macOS file dialog. That's probably why your favorites and the iCloud options are not present.

Using the preferences button to open Sigil's preferences location has nothing to do with opening/saving epubs (which are.zip files), so the native dialog can be used.

But surely there's still a way to browse to the iCloud synced folders' location on your Mac with the non-native dialog?

You need to add a new folder representing the icloud folder to the left side panel. It will be remembered and easily found thereafter.

I am away from my desktop but later this afternoon I will get access to my laptop and can then walk you through those one-time steps.

I do not use iCloud to share documents so I had to look this up online.

1. In Sigil go to File->Open

2. In the Open File dialog use the left hand panel click on your home folder (mine is called "kbhend")

3. Near the bottom of the dialog to the right of where it says "File name:" type the word "Library" (no quotes) and then hit open.

4. Select your "Mobile Documents" folder and hit open.

5. You should now see a folder called:
com~apple~CloudDocs

6. Drag and drop that "com~apple~CloudDocs" folder onto the dialog's left hand panel to make accessing it a simple single click away in the future.

MacOS hides the user's Library folder for some really strange reason. Not sure why. Which is why this is not as easy as it should be.

ps: It is even easier if you open a macOS Finder window and select your home folder. Then go to Finder's View menu item in the top menubar and select "Show View Options" and then check the box beside "Show Library Folder".

This will "unhide" your local Library Folder and you can then easily navigate using Sigil's File->Open menu to select your Home folder and then "Library" then "Mobile Documents" and com~apple~CloudDocs folder just like any other folder.

Thank you for your kindness! Get helped!!!
This is worked for me!

In addition, I copied iCloud Folder Address, and pasted into file name.
Then, the dialogue show Files of that Folder.

Thank you so much again!
