Sage, portrait and landscape

Do the Sage portrait and landscape modes work on both sides or just one? IOW, for portrait say, will it work with the buttons on either side while held or only with the buttons on the right side? And landscape, works with buttons both top and bottom or only on the bottom?

I looked on the Kobo website and searched here but couldn't find it. Thanks for any and all input.

All four sides. You can lock the Sage to only the portrait mode or only the landscape mode too, so that it will only respond if you rotate it 180 degrees. Or you can leave it unlocked, in which case it will respond if you rotate it 90 degrees.

Thank you. I should have thought to ask about the buttons. Do you get to choose which button moves in which direction? IOW, can you assign page turning forward like reading a paper book to either button or does it only default to one button? And if you turn it 180 degrees do you have to remember the buttons are now working opposite what they were when held the other way?

You can select either upper or lower button as paging forward. And this rotates with the device, so that it's always the upper button paging forward if you've chosen so.

Thanks again. I figured it was that way. It only makes sense to be. But then again sometimes companies can find all sorts of ways to alter sense.
