Way to re-init/recover appreg.db?

On my PW4, I was making some edits to /var/local/appreg.db - Kindle now gets stuck at bootup (boy under tree). No backups, my fault.

Thankfully I can still SSH via wifi to the device.

I do have a backup from another device (PW5).
Will copying over the PW5's appreg.db work?
Worst case would be it applying some different wifi settings, thus locking me out of SSH.

Am I able to do a factory reset to recreate the database?
Just wary to attempt without advice as would certainly lose ability to SSH.

Any help appreciated, thank you!

Strange, did a few reboots, no change.
Plugged in device to computer, usb mounted fine.
I noticed 25 files with names like:

rcm_1621_059-juno_1402_moonshine_rex-380714.core

Removed the cable, rebooted again, working fine...
Not sure why, but won't complain

I still wanted to look into this, and from looking at /etc/init/prereg.conf, we can see that there's a file in /opt/var/local/reg/prereg.db that is copied to /var/local/appreg.db.
Look at the .conf file I mentioned as it looks like some operations may need to be done to the prereg.db file before it's actually usable as the appreg.db.
