PW KUAL won't open after install?

Hello all,

Using the stickied threads, I successfully jailbroke my Kindle Paperwhite Wifi (aka PW1). I attempted to install KUAL but now when I find it in my library on the Kindle and try to open it, it opens to a blank page for a few seconds, then kicks me back out with an error message:

"An error occurred while trying to open this item. If the problem persists, please contact Kindle Customer Service" [lol]

I've had it on airplane mode for years, so it didn't do a secret update or anything like that. Does anyone have any insight about where I could have gone wrong? Thanks in advance

If your FW is new enough (which, err, may not be possible on a PW1. Don't trust anything I say on a Friday at 11PM^Wmidnight), try switching to the Booklet variant, it has less stringent startup timing constraints.

Installing the gawk extension (and actually switching to gawk afterwards) should also make everything KUAL faster, which will also affect startup, thus alleviating this issue, too
