Troubleshooting: Corrupted Database Disk Image
I tried to add a book today to my Calibre library, and my Kobo e-reader.
I've used this Kobo + Calibre for a few years now. I added a book the same way about a month ago. Today when plugging in my Kobo, Calibre throws this error: Quote:
Is there a way to fix this? |

The database on your Kobo is corrupt.
If you have a database backup taken with Kobo Utilities, restore from the last good one. Otherwise sign out of your account and sign back in. That will fix the database but your reading stats and positions will get wiped. If you're using firmware 4.31, there's been reports of it being a bit unstable. Several of us have downgraded to 4.30. Ask in the Kobo forums for more info. Last edited by ownedbycats; 03-20-2022 at 04:05 PM. |

Ok, for reference sake, my Kobo has been offline, and not updated in....forever...
So I'm surprised something would corrupt with just normal use. Also, does it matter that my entire library has been controlled by Calibre for the life of the device? |

Depending on how old your device is, it's possible the SD card might be starting to fail -- I retired my Aura HD at, I think, the seven-year mark because of this.

On the Kobo, find the 'About' in settings and look at the version. Also, pulling the USB while metadata updates are in progress can barf on things. Always wait for the main screen on the Kobo to settle before unplugging: USB transfers can be buffered, so just because Calibre removes the On Device column, does not prove the transfer is done. |

Thank you everyone for the help. It looks like signing out on my Kobo and back in has allowed Calibre to see my library. Appreciate it!

Did you even read the thread, like you tell others to do? Because it was covered in posts #2 and #3.
