Kobo black screen won't start
Hi everyone,
The problem with my e-reader is that it shows me the following screen: The blue light top-right is on when i charge it. I also dont get a pop up when it is plugged in to the pc. Does anyone know why this happens and what the fix is? Thanks in advance! |

Looking at that screen, it appears that your Aura H2O ed. 2 has frozen in the middle of a firmware update. Not good news.
Have you tried holding the power button for ~20-30 seconds to force your Kobo to turn off, releasing the power button and then pressing it again to try to power on your Kobo. If that doesn't work, you could try a manual factory reset See Manual reset your Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2 for the procedure. You will probably need to disregard the part about waiting for the Power Off screen in step 2. Just hold the power button for about 30 seconds to force your Kobo to power off and then move on to step 3. Good luck! |

I tried the reset approach however i never get the 'restore screen' appear.
The blue light only turns on and off when i press the power off button for 30/40 seconds. I guess it only turns on and off again and doesn't do anything besides that. Are there any other possible solutions when it is frozen in the middle of a firmware update? I looked online and apparently you can open the device up to reinstall the new firmware. (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=244302). Would that be worth trying? Thanks for the help. |

If the manual reset method that @DNSB pointed to doesn't work, then there isn't much we can do. The Aura H2O Edition 2 has fixed internal storage. That means that there is no easy way to create an image from one, or restore it to a non-working device.
