Where did the grayscale vs color render option go ?
I am using a boox nova air a device that definitely doesn't support color
However I do like to read a few epub documents that I've created that have red and green and yellow highlighting on the base document. Koreader seems to render the red highlights as too dark to read the underlying text. I seem to recall there was a grayscale vs color option in the settings and I believe if I tell koreader to treat it as color even though it's not it looked easier to read. Tried to search the menus and user manual but didn't find anything. Ideas? |

Known E Ink devices are defined as not having a color screen since https://github.com/koreader/android-...ncher/pull/354 (beside the Onyx Nova 3 Color), but I think that's only relevant to the default?

Thanks !
Is there any way to tell koreader I have a color screen? Even though I don't ? The grayscale rendering it does automatically for my nova air makes red highlights almost impossible to read. When it rendered as a "color screen" it was more readable |

It looks like this has actually been the behavior pretty much forever.
You could however add color_rendering = true to settings.reader.lua. (Be sure to take a backup in case you typo, etc., usual warnings.) |

Thanks Frenzie ; that fixed it and rendering looks more readable especially on weird highlights like yellow and red on black text.
Upon launch however I see "Color rendering is mistakenly enabled on your grayscale device. this will subtly break some features, and adversely affect performance." I hit ignore, but it seems that it gives me that message on every fresh launch of koreader, even after hitting ignore. Is there a way to permanently disable this check on startup? or, more preferably: is there a way to disable the grayscale rendering *on only one document*? most of the time whatever magic koreader is doing looks greatttt! Not that I recall, the config key mentioned above is what everything relies on, hence the startup check to avoid screwups when moving configs between color and grayscale devices
