Moving data

All,

I am wanting to move all my "old" data from my laptop to my desktop.
I have successfully exported my data to a USB stick, but when i go to import it on my desktop it tells me that my Library needs to be empty - which its not.

How do i get around this ?

Any help is appreciated.
