Calibre Library on iSCSI-mounted RAID 5 NAS

I've seen the caution about storing the Calibre library on NAS. I've been running for several years with my library on a dynamic volume which is stored on an iSCSI-mounted NAS. I chose this as it allows me to treat several smaller drives as a single 12TB volume (in RAID 5 config). Windows sees the drive as a local volume. Does this config mitigate the issue of using the NAS or am I still vulnerable? Note this RAID 5 mirrors weekly to another RAID 5 (mitigating the risk of corruption due to a RAID controller failure...which I've experienced previously on an old server).

It depends on how broken the filesystem/disk drivers your config uses are. There is no easy way to know whether are particular NAS will work well or not.

Thanks. Both my NAS are Netgear ReadyNAS. I haven't had an issue yet and I've got over 39K entries in my library. I'll leave things the way they are since I should only lose at most a few days of work in the event of failure due to the weekly mirrored systems.

...and and huge thanks for all your work on building and maintaining such a great tool and community...

For what it's worth, I am also using Calibre with my libraries (plural) on an iSCSI volume hosted on a Seagate SN04D NAS, and have had no problems.
