Well broke down and bought one

Well after a lot of reading and thought I decided to give the sage a shot as my next reader...

I was a little leary due to the battery. But I couldn't go to a smaller screen of the Libra 2....

Same here but so far I'm happy with the device. The screen is nicer, the lighting more even than my Forma was. Yeah, it's a little heavier and I have to charge it every week to ten days but I'm satisfied.

That will work for me, I just a couple YouTube reviews stating about 6 hours battery life, they did come back and say after 3 full battery cycles and an update they were up into double digits...

I've never done the 3 full cycles thing, I wonder if I should? It has got down to 1-2% a couple of times, but when I'm a big reading stint I grab a power pack if it gets under 30%. It is a lovely reader

Me neither. Frankly, I've stopped counting how many days the battery lasts. I just no longer care. It lasts however long it lasts, and I charge it when it gets low enough, and that's that.

I did it (3 full power cycles) when I tested the Sage. It made absolutely no difference.

I'm surprised it takes 7-10 business days to ship...

The long shipping time from Rakuten for my Formas was why I bought that Sage I tested online at Walmart. Plus, it was a lot easier to return.

I’m going to write a post up soon on my thoughts on the Sage vs Libra 2. I like both it really comes down to personal preference on which features matter most to you.

On shipping I’ll say this, the Sage I preordered from Kobo and UPS were the ones who gave me the tracking info first, it was also late to depart though I can’t be sure if this was on Rakuten/Kobos side or UPS. It did get to me in a few days time and honestly well under the amount of time I’d have started to become anxious that something had gone wrong. The Libra 2 I ordered from Amazon and got the next day, though this was a considerable amount of time after both were released.

I really love Kobo devices. But their shipping department remains to this day as the most glaring weak point of their business. Yes, even over customer service which from my experience has improved over the years I’ve owned Kobo devices.

I think you'll like the Sage. They got rid of the sticky rubber front that the Forma has and replaced it with hard plastic that doesn't get sticky. I don't find the lesser battery life to be a big deal. The Format was lighter but I find that it is worth the trade-off. The screen quality is slightly better on the Sage. They say that the refresh is faster on the Sage but I cannot notice the difference there.

I prefer the Sage to my earlier Forma although it's not a great deal better.
