[Kindle Oasis] Adding books problem

I have often added books formatted with Calibre to my Oasis kindle using transfer via USB from my computer. Have done this for years. However, last few days when I add a book to the kindle it transfers, I can see it in the kindle window on the computer, but cannot see it when disconnecting the kindle and looking for it. I can search but does not find though I know it is there. Have done with with half a dozen books. Have restarted the kindle twice. Still does not work.
Any idea?

Maybe something is stuck in indexing. Do a search for a nonsense string on the Oasis homepage, for example "flhglifng". It should say that not all books have been indexed yet, if that's the case. If you get the result 0 and no notice about books not yet indexed, then it's not an indexing issue.

Is the date on your Oasis correct? And what format are the books?

Checked the date and time and they are correct.
The format, from Calibre, is azw3 which is the one I always use.

Looks like the indexer is not working for some reason.

Sorry, I have no more suggestions. If nothing else helps, the factory reset might fix the problem. Then again, it might not. But it's something to try, as a last resort.

Thanks for the reply. I have already done the factory reset more than once. I think I have figured it out. The cause is an old battery. The battery does not hold charge very long, a few days. I read somewhere that it takes a lot of energy to do indexing and I am thinking that the kindle is not able to do it. When I plug it in for a while then it seems to work.
Have new batteries on order.
