Considering a new Oasis; is the disappearing pages bug fixed?

I’m considering an Oasis, but I would like to know if the disappearing pages bug is fixed yet. For those not familiar, this bug persisted for years and I eventually tracked it down to converted KFX/AZW3 files. It didn’t seem to affect mobi.

I've had the Oasis since 9-21-19 and never heard of this until just this moment. I've never experienced it. I just read books straight as they come from Amazon though.

If the files are ‘converted’ (and presumably side loaded), there is no reason Amazon would even know there was an issue to fix. Seems it would be more pertinent to ask about the status of the converter (calibre plugin?).

Never happened on any of my Oases, and I have had them all. All my books are sideloaded from Calibre in the AZW3 format.

Edit: it seems I mentioned having it happen to me. Funny thing is, I don't even remember it, it was so long ago. So I'd say it's been fixed, and has been for years.

I saw this repeatedly for many, many years, in mobis of all sorts (converted from calibre, periodicals from Amazon, it didn't matter). It is not yet fixed as of firmware 5.13.6, and I don't really want to upgrade beyond that because of the dog's dinner Amazon has made of the UI as a whole after that release.

Thankfully, it's intermittent. The bug where the search dialog vanishes within a fraction of a second of appearing so you can't actually search for anything (only fixed reliably by rebooting) is much, much more annoying. Maybe the new UI will fix that, but I have no confidence at all in that. I mean this is a bug that actually prevents you from buying books (because you can't search for them by name), and Amazon haven't fixed it in five years or more.

Not fixed? I haven't seen even one disappearing page in years. Well, not on the Oasis 2 and 3, at least, as I sold the Oasis 1 three years ago. And all my books are sideloaded azw3.

As to the search bug, haven't seen that either, unless you mean searching in the store, as I don't use the store on my Oasis.

That's why. This bug is specific to the mobi-and-periodical reader (which has a completely divergent code base to the azw3 reader, which has a completely divergent code base to the kfx reader. Typical Amazon software... small wonder they find adding new features so hard.)
