User Dictionary - Suggested Improvement

I would like to suggest that an Author/Series specific user dictionary be enabled to be created that allows a user to assign a dictionary to an author and/or book series.

This would allow dictionary additions to be shared between books of the same series and/or author. For example: There are book series that deal with the same character names and names of places. There are series written by more than one author. If there was a Series/Author specific dictionary that was assignable to a series/author, then the new dictionary should be automatically assessable to all eBooks in/for that series/author. This would allow the user to create a common dictionary for the series/author.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

You can create custom dictionaries (it is sort of hidden), THEN add words from the spell check

In the Editor
Edit: Preferences: Editor Settings (in sidebar): Manage spelling dictionaries (button): Add dictionary/manage use dictionaries (buttons)
Note: You will need to 'Mark as Active' to use

OTOH
Their selection (cuastom dictionary) is not Automatic by book (by any means )

Smile backup and restore user dictionaries

Hi, (Google translate)
Is there a way to backup and restore a user dictionary (words with associated language)?
The objective is to be able to work on different machines.
The editor interface only allows you to insert a list of words from the clipboard and without language information (my documents can be multi-lingual).
The ideal would be to be able to integrate the content of user dictionaries in the ePub file, although it is not standard, but by external files that would be already nice!
Regards

The file including the user dicts is there:
<CONFIG DIR>/calibre/dictionaries/prefs.json
You may copy it from a PC to another.

You can include a list of words with their language directly in this file (calibre must be closed).

You can also use a basic python script to include the content of a file (word + lang) into this file, you'll need to use dump() from the lib "json"
Or, if you use the python prompt opened by calibre-debug, you can use the utility from calibre :
from calibre.utils.config import JSONConfig
