Conversion question for calibre

Hi. I don't know if anyone has had this issue before, but advice would be great. I've been trying to convert two books with different names but in the same series. Calibre has done the coversion with no issue, however when I open the books on my reader software the books seem to replace each other.
like books 1 and 3 are interchangeable for some reason. I cannot seem to get both into the reader at the same time. - the reader software I am using is Sony reader for PC.

It sounds like Calibre is converting both to files with the same name. I'm not familiar with the Sony reader for PC. Perhaps you might try Calibre Companion.

It's possible they have the same internal UUID. I believe this would be found in the content.opf of each book

@psychadelic: Every time that someone has reported that, it is because of the save template used for sending books to the device. At a guess, you have changed the template to use the series name for the file name. Which means whichever is sent last replaces the first. The default template is something like:

Code:

{author_sort}/{title} - {authors}

You have probably replaced the "{title}" with "{series}" or something like that.

Check what you have in the save template for the driver for your device. There is a default on the "Sending books to devices" page of the preferences, but, is only used if you have not configured the driver.

Thank you for all the advice, - being a noob, most of it went over my head. I did however find a solution to it. As David suggested I checked the save template and made a minor change to include the ISBN number of the books. I hadn't configured anything prior so this was new for me.
