Can I create a subgroup of Saved Searches?

I have saved searches for books read by year, from 2011 to now. Is it possible to put these searches in a subgroup, separate from my other saved searches?

If you're using a newer version of Calibre, I believe 5.8.x or better, it supports hierarchical searches. Older versions... kinda support it, but the behavior was a little strange/glitchy and chaley put in some changes to make it work better.

Use Preferences > Look & Feel > Tag Browser and add "search" to "Categories with hierarchical items." Then name your search Search.Subsearch.

It works beautifully and reduces my interminable scrolling

Is also possible to call the subsearches in the main search. Actually, you can do it with any search so long as you're careful not to recurse.

I do this for my Cleanup search:

Code:
(search:"=Cleanup.Fanfic Issues")
OR (search:"=Cleanup.Formats")
OR (search:"=Cleanup.Metadata Cleanup")
And then here's Cleanup.Metadata Cleanup:

Code:
(search:"=Cleanup.Metadata Cleanup.Cleanup Tags")
OR (search:"=Cleanup.Metadata Cleanup.Convert ISBNs")
OR (search:"=Cleanup.Metadata Cleanup.Missing Kobo collection")
OR search:"=Cleanup.Metadata Cleanup.Missing Kobo Path"
OR (search:"=Cleanup.Metadata Cleanup.Missing Language")
OR (search:"=Cleanup.Metadata Cleanup.Missing Page Count")
Advantages: it executes quite a bit faster than making them all one giant search, and it's a lot easier to narrow down a specific criteria.

This is neat; I can see it coming in handy
