Overlapping Kindle Unlimited Subscriptions

I bought two Kindles a couple of months ago and they both came with Kindle Unlimited subscriptions. The first subscription (3 months) started on Oct 31, 2021 and ends on Jan 31, 2022, while the second one (4 months) must be redeemed by Dec 31, 2021.

Can I activate the second subscription while the first one is still running? Or should I cancel the first one before activating the second one? Not sure what to do, just that I must do it by Dec 31.

Hm, not sure. If I were you I'd try it without cancelling the other and hope it just adds more time to the current subscription

Amazon has a web page with details of the free 4 months of Kindle Unlimited with Kindle purchase:

It is oddly worded but to me it appears that activating it will extend your current free trial by four months.

I just now tried to redeem the offer but I got the following message: It looks like you are already subscribed to Kindle Unlimited. The promotional offer you selected is valid for new Kindle Unlimited members only.

Nowhere in the T/C for the offer does it state that it's for new customers only.

I got it sorted with Customer Service, who had to manually cancel my current subscription to allow the new one to activate. Doing it this way means I lose out on more than a month of service but it's fine with me.

That's a shame. I was a subscriber for years, but when I received a new Paperwhite, then the new Oasis, when I entered the free code it automatically gives me free months without interrupting membership. Maybe they changed that a bit.
