IOS Question

I am tech medium savvy and thought someone here could give e a quick and concise summary of how the following updates may affect me. I am a longtime lurker and have learned so much from these forums.

I have been running on Mojave forever. I am at the point that I now have to upgrade to Catalina (or Big Sur, but that might affect some of my peripherals). How will either upgrade affect my use of Calibre (using Alf toolkit also) and Adobe Reader? I am currently running Adobe Reader 2.01.78765. I remember reading that updating from 2.01 would cause problems. So, any issues with upgrading my iOS, Calibre, and Adobe Reader?

Thanks so much for your help/advice.

I have successively upgraded from pre-Catalina through Big Sir and now Monterey and have had no problems with any of the programs you mention. Incidentally, I don't know what peripherals you have, but none of mine had problems with OS upgrades.

Thank you for the information. The light bulb came back on and it is merely important that I maintain ADE 2.0.1. Otherwise, the upgrade should be no issue as you stated. Thanks again for replying and providing a bit of piece of mind. Off to back up my system and then begin the update process.

Peripherals was not the right term at all. Apparently, you cannot download an audiobook from Overdrive on a 64-bit operating system. That means I can only listen through their new app Not a real big issue, it just means I can no longer do some of the things I want with the audiobook files.
